In July, 2013 our big adventure was to Africa. We arrived Johannesburg, South Africa before starting our safari to
Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. In Joburg we hired a car and driver for a quick tour of the city a Soweto.
On our African Safari I used two Nikon cameras and shot more than 17,000 images over a period of 3 weeks. Everyday was simply extraordinary. Our day started with wake-up at 5:00 AM. After a quick breakfast it was out to the land rover vehicles and into the bush for animal viewing. July in Africa is considered winter and the temperature when we woke up was hovering around 50 degrees. We slept in a very comfortable “canvas” hut but no heat. We stayed out in the bush, stopping for a coffee break, until 11 o’clock when it started getting hot and the animals were hunkering down to avoid the heat. Back at camp we washed up for lunch, recharge batteries and relaxed. In the afternoon around 2pm we gathered for a camp discussions on issues in Africa. At 4pm we left for our afternoon/evening game drive and beautiful sunset accompanied with wine, beer or soda. We returned to camp between 8-9pm for a deliciously prepared dinner. After dinner our hut was very inviting as we looked forward to our next day’s adventure.
While it will take some time to sort and organize my 17,000 images from Africa here is a video with a sample of photos and videos of our
