> Karnak Temple

Karmak Comprises numerous ruined temples, chapels, pylons, other buildings and the Great Temple of Amun-Re begun by Rameses II. The site includes the sacred lake of Amun-Re. The temple complex was the Ipet-isut "The Most Sacred of Places." Karnak was the main place of worship of Theban Deity Triad-the god Amun as its head, his consort Mut and their son Khonsu. Karnak is part of the monumental city of Thebes.


> Valley of the Kings and Queens

Valley of the Kings/Queens - For nearly 500 years tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom. The valley is located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes [Luxor.] The valley contains 63 known tombs. The tombs contain scenes from Egyptian mythology. The ancient name was "The Great and Majestic Necropolis of the Millions of Years of the Pharaoh, Life, Strength, Health in the West of Thebes [Ta-sekhet-ma'at.]


> Egyptian Family

We were invited to spend the afternoon with an Egyptian family who run a small farm. They have horses and camels for rent. This is their family, farm and house.
