In August 2012 Gail, Lisa, and David took a cruise on the Norwegian Jade to the Mediterranean and Greek Isles from Venice Italy. We flew to Milan, Italy and boarded a train to Quarto d'Altino, a suburb of Venice. Quarto d'Altino gets its name from being "a quarter of a mile from the ancient Roman city of Altinum. (Altinum was destroyed by Atilla in 452 and was gradually abandoned by its inhabitants.) We did sightseeing and shopping in Venice and then boarded the NCL Jade for our ports of call.
