In 2011 and again in 2012 Gail and I cruised from Seattle to Alaska on Norwegian Cruise Line. Our advise for anyone going on a cruise is to get to the embarkation port at least one day ahead of the sailing date. This will avoid problems due to weather, aircraft mechanical problems and other unforeseen flight delays. If your flight is delayed the ship will not wait for you. It will be your responsibility (and cost) to meet the ship at another port.

(The “Underground” was Seattle’s original street level in the 1800”s. When the streets were elevated to allow the construction of a sewer system, the second floor became the street level . The “underground” space was forgotten and fell into disuse. When we first visited Seattle in the 1980’s walking the underground was a trip back to the 1800’s with shops vacated as they were in 1880’s. Now the underground has been re-discovered and developed. Unfortunately the underground as lost its yesteryear charm and discovery.)
